64. The Wise Cycles of Nature & Our Bodies
Something strange happens in December. Industries like wellness, fitness, and online business start humming with “new year, new you” energy. Whether it’s a marketing strategy or a new gym membership, there’s a collective sense of wanting to start over, do something better, or commit in a new way. I fell for this in my twenties because I had a lot of energy. In my forties? No.
Years ago, I started noticing the urgent pull of doing didn’t feel aligned with what was happening around me. It got dark early. It was cold. The Earth was in a deep state of energy conservation and repair. The linear, Gregorian calendar has us celebrating the new year in the depths of winter, but nature and our bodies know the truth: cycles and seasons flow in their own time.
